NSSF, SAAMI Lawsuit Served on Calif. Attorney General

The National Shooting Sports Foundation’s and the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute’s lawsuit seeking to invalidate and stop enforcement of California’s firearms microstamping law was served on the state and Attorney General Kamala Harris on Jan. 15. The firearms Industry has long held that there is no existing microstamping technology that will reliably, consistently and legibly imprint the required identifying information by a semiautomatic handgun on the ammunition it fires. Manufacturers cannot comply with a law that is a back-door attempt to prevent the sale of new semiautomatic handguns to law-abiding citizens in California and will not contribute to improving public safety.
