Home on the Range September 2014 — 03 September 2014

Although it’s only September, the staff at the National Shooting Sports Foundation has been busy for months in putting together the 2015 SHOT Show.

As a range operator, what can you expect from the 2015 show? More than 1,600 exhibitors will be on hand, showing off the latest innovative products and services. The list of these exhibitors contains the established who’s who in the firearms, shooting and hunting industry plus a crop of new and dynamic vendors. Find the latest and greatest products to bring into your range to increase foot traffic and range usage all in one place!

In addition, qualified buyers will be able to try out a number of the new products the day prior to the start of the show at the Industry Day at the Range Event on Monday, Jan. 19, the day before the show opens its doors for its four-day run. Jan. 20-23.

There will also be a host of educational events geared toward range and retail operations. The education starts off with the perennially sold out SHOT Show University (SSU), also being held on Monday, Jan. 19. The 2015 SSU is focused on operational excellence, with tracks focused on both the new and veteran retailer, ATF compliance and a track on how to drive your sales. SSU will feature two keynoters as well; Dr. Linda Talley will address the topic of leadership for the independent business owner, and the pilots of Afterburner Inc. will share their experiences and keys to flawless business execution.

The educational seminars continue during the week of SHOT Show with classes being devoted to a wide spectrum of topics and speakers.   Sessions range from cutting-edge technologies in store and range security and a panel discussion on buying strategies, to a class devoted to National Firearms Act products and a class on strategies for buying and selling used firearms.

Both SSU and these Retailer Education seminars require preregistration, and we recommend you do so promptly when registration opens. These sessions will sell out quickly. For more information about SSU and the Retailer Educations Seminars, please go to www.shotshow.org/education.

Besides the exhibitors’ products and services and the educational opportunities available at SHOT, you’ll find the top range and retail operators from across the country in attendance. Getting this many great independent business people together presents a wonderful opportunity to network and build relationships.

In short, this is a can’t-miss opportunity to see the products, meet the people and learn from the experts on how to take your range operation to the next level.

Here’s to seeing you in Las Vegas the third week of January for what will be the best SHOT Show we’ve held.
